| Through the years HMR Hydeq developed an original system to facilitate the anode changing operation. In 2005 a new model of Knife and Hammer Breaker has been designed. The main target was to make a two-tool efficient vehicle with simple, reliable tools and the best available driver’s comfort, as well as low running costs. The big challenge was also securing of good visibility for the driver under operation of the tools. Therefore we are so happy with the positive feedback, given to us by the users of this new model.
The hydraulic hammer is powerful and designed for rough working conditions. The long range, compact design and possibilities to twist and tilt it, make the hammer flexible and easy to use all the way to the centre of most pot ends. The knife device is used to release the anodes on the log side. Our knife makes a very clean cut, and – in comparison with use of the hammer for the same process – the amount of released crust is none or very reduced.
