The Transparency Act

The Norwegian Transparency Act entered into force on 1 July 2022. It shall ensure respect for basic human rights and decent working conditions in the company’s own operations and in the supply chain.

How we work with the Transparency Act

HMR’s guidelines and routines for handling risks related to human rights and decent working conditions

Core Values

Ambitious, Respectful and Responsible are our core values, which are implemented throughout the organisation. These values shall contribute to ensuring that our products, services and operations are in line with international human rights and standards for decent working conditions. Our business follows the UN’s and OECD’s guiding principles for responsible businesses and human rights.

Policies and Guidelines

Our commitment to respect basic human rights and decent working conditions is governed by our Policy for Human Rights and Decent Working Conditions and our Ethics Policy / Ethical Guidelines for employees and Code of Conduct for the supply chain and other business partners. The business complies with the legislation for Health, Environment and Safety in the workplace and for equality and the absence of discrimination.

Code of Conduct for Suppliers

We have clear expectations that our suppliers and business partners have the same requirements as ourselves – that all employees and others affected by the business are treated with respect and dignity. It is expected that our suppliers and business partners act with seriousness and care to avoid damage and negative consequences for people. Our suppliers and business partners must live up to international human rights standards and the ILO’s core conventions for decent working conditions. These expectations are communicated through the HMR Group’s Code of Conduct for Suppliers.

Diligence Assesments

In accordance with the Norwegian Transparency Act, we carry out due diligence assessments in our own operations, in the supply chain and business partners. We must report annually on our due diligence assessments, and answer questions about how we work to ensure respect for human rights and decent working conditions in connection with the production of products and services.
