Next-Gen CCM

The crucible cleaning machine is part of HMR Hydeq’s tapping system. Like most machines from HMR Hydeq, the station is fully automatic and can be operated by the tapping vehicle’s operator.

The tapping vehicle places the crucible on a pallet. The crucible is automatically picked up and tilted to empty the metal and slag into two separate containers. A large milling cutter, driven by a powerful hydraulic motor, removes slag and aluminum residue in a single, efficient operation.

The machine is designed for optimal operation at temperatures of 600–700 °C. An exhaust hood ensures that dust and gases are captured and filtered through the dust extraction system.

The new Dual Drilling Station solution offers increased capacity and efficiency. Once the cleaning of one crucible is complete, the table pushes the processed crucible out of the work area and automatically makes room for a new crucible. This allows work to continue with minimal downtime and higher throughput.

Advantages and features:

  • Dual milling station — the finished crucible is automatically pushed away, and a new crucible can be loaded
  • Interchangeable tool disc for flexible and efficient machining
  • Compact design: H 7.5 m × L 10.5 m × D 7.5 m
  • Practical and proven concept
  • Improved dust and fume extraction for a cleaner working environment
  • Flexible crucible size – adapted to various melting crucibles
  • Fully automatic operation – can be operated by the tapping vehicle operator
  • Efficient removal of dross and aluminum residues in a single operation
